Story · 17 · Moses and Joshua
Why didn't Moses enter the Promised Land?
The Bible offers competing answers: he struck the rock against God's orders, or God was angry with him because of the people. A third, older reason may lie in a tradition of his grave near Mount Nebo.
Multiple explanations, preserved side by side.
