Nehemiah's New Deal
Like FDR's New Deal, Nehemiah combined construction projects with relief and reform of financial abuses.
A new era needed Nehemiahs, not Davids.

Roosevelt called his program 'a call to arms.' Nehemiah, a governor under a Persian king, had to convince rather than conscript. He represents a new form of leadership for a province, as David embodied the old monarchy.
