Migrants from at least six ethnic groups arrived in the Nile Delta. Egyptian reliefs show frenzied land and sea battles. Pharaohs claimed they settled them there by choice.

More likely, Egypt couldn't prevent the migrations. The Philistines settled on Canaan's coast near Gaza around the same time.
